We were thrilled to be given the chance to become a vendor at this years Catfest event, which took place at Beckenham Palace Park. Take a look at our day
We arrived at the event nice and early around 7:45am so that we could set up our table before the event opened to the public at 10:30am. We had a few teething problems to begin with such as leaving our most important items at home, which led to yet another Uber trip back and fourth. Luckily for us we had a lovely driver.
When we had everything we needed for the day, we set up the table and we were really happy with how it looked aesthetically. We had some great comments about our cat themed table cloth and bunting. We also displayed all of our promo stuff in an orderly and accessible layout. We are in 2019, so we used our ipad as a tool for mailing list sign ups. The lovely Gus and Bella Box (our competition prize) was a showstopper and many people were interested in signing up for a chance to win it.
The day was one of the hottest we have had in the UK this year and the marquee was not ventilated very well, so there were lots of people looking flushed and hot. It was also quite uncomfortable for many of the other stall holders and we relished the small breeze that would come through every so often.
By midday the marquee was filling up with cat lovers wearing cat ears and sporting cat painted faces. We received quite a good response from people and it was a fantastic opportunity to network and talk with cat lovers and likeminded people.
This was our first event, so we didn’t really know what to expect; but we really enjoyed speaking with people interested in booking cat sitting with us and also other businesses.
It also gave us some much needed insight into how we would run our cat event, which will be taking place in Central London towards the end of the year. We are also happy that so many businesses were interested in taking part in our event, which we are super excited about.
